Are you ready for some glitz and glamour right here in San Miguel County? The New Mexico Counties (NMC) 87^th Annual Conference will be held Monday, June 17 – Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Las Vegas, New Mexico!  We are excited to extend our invitation to attendees like you to join us for an unforgettable experience. Prepare for a week filled with informational affiliate sessions, workshops, fun social events, and a bit of Hollywood blended with the Southwest.  This year’s conference will feature the annual golf tournament at Pendaries Golf Course, a kick-off block party at the Train Depot with BBQ and boot-scooting, and star-studded County night at Buffalo Hall, and the Heavy Equipment ROADEO just to name a few!

Conferences and Meetings

NMC hosts two conferences per year to provide educational and networking opportunities for our members.

The Legislative Conference occurs the opening week of the legislative session in January in Santa Fe.  The Annual Conference occurs the third week in June annually and the location varies based on proposals submitted from each county and decided upon by the NMC Board of Directors.

Every even numbered year, NMC hosts the Better Informed Public Officials (BIPO) Conference prior to our legislative conference in January. This conference focuses on the education of newly elected officials who take office January 1 of each odd year.

As members of the National Association of Counties (NACo), our county members have access to webinars and conferences specific to county governments. NACo hosts two conferences per year: legislative conference in March and annual conference in July.

The NMC Board of Directors meet six times per year at various locations around the state.
