"As a small, rural county in New Mexico, Harding County relies on the programs, services, and expertise that NMAC provides to us as a member of the Association and of the three self-insurance pools. From legal advice on employment issues to the extensive educational services that NMAC provides, Harding County benefits enormously from this partnership."

Education and Professional Development

NMAC offers our county members various avenues from which to continue their professional education, utilize existing resources and tools, and educate themselves on current issues and best practices. Through our affiliates, members receive specific education on skills and issues relevant to their everyday work. At our conferences, we have general sessions that provide updates and information on current events, issues and trends in county, state and federal government as well as education on legislative issues.

Our Loss Prevention Department offers courses and onsite inspections that teach county members the risks and causes of incidents in their facilities and programs and services that expand their understanding of supervision, management and other skills. Click here to see the details of what Loss Prevention Staff can offer.

NMAC also partners with national organizations to bring more educational services to our county members. As members of the National Association of Counties (NACo), our county members have access to webinars and conferences specific to county governments. NACo hosts two conferences per year: legislative conference in March and annual conference in July. Click the link in the menu under “Conferences” to be redirected to the NACo website.
