NMAC Employee Voluntary Benefits Program

The New Mexico Association of Counties is rolling out an Employee Voluntary Benefits Plan for all New Mexico County employees. These voluntary benefits help fill in the gaps in the core employee benefit packages currently in place, and are an incredible benefit available to any county employee. By combining all New Mexico county employees into a single “pool”, we can access excellent benefits at very low prices.

From the County perspective, employees are the most valuable asset a County has, and industry statistics show that 90% of employees look favorably on employers offering a full range of benefits, including voluntary benefits, believing that these benefits help them secure and simplify their lives. Voluntary benefits add value for employees while costing the County nothing, and they typically increase an employee’s satisfaction with their employer. These benefits support the health and wellness of employees and their families.

–  A County employee cannot be denied the guaranteed issue coverage.
–  Employees will be able to take their coverage with them if they leave County employment.
–  Employees are guaranteed to be renewed whether or not a person remains a County employee.
–  Supplemental benefits are paid directly to the employee, which can help offset costs not covered by your health
insurance i.e., deductibles, co-pays, or your portion.

NMAC has partnered with Sun Life Financial who offers a comprehensive suite of benefits that are consisten with other vendors in the voluntary benefits business. Another advantage to moving to Sun Life is their pre-enrollment, enrollment, and communication process which prepares the employees well in advance of the enrollment. Think of this as your benefits package as commissions paid to NMAC are reinvested in services to counties.

  • Cancer
  • Term Life
