The local government accreditation programs were developed through a collaboration between the NMAC and the NM Municipal League in order to bring meaningful and affordable accreditation opportunities to New Mexico cities and counties.
NMAC has long recognized the importance of professional standards for law enforcement and detention. All counties are encouraged to comply with the standards and seek accreditation. The New Mexico Association of Counties staff is available to assist counties in this endeavor.
