Workers’ Compensation Pool
Since July 1, 1987, the Workers’ Compensation Pool has provided comprehensive statutory Workers’ Compensation coverage for its member counties. The Pool provides medical and lost-time coverage for all county member employees, including temporary employees. Annual Pool Membership Meetings
Each county member has one voting representative in the Workers’ Compensation Pool, which meets annually in June at the NMAC Annual Conference. The members elect the Board of Directors and discuss Pool business.

Claims Department
The Workers’ Compensation Department provides claim handling for member counties. Benefits are provided for reasonable and necessary medical treatment and lost time for on-the-job work related accidents resulting in injury. Unresolved claims that proceed to a formal trial before the Workers’ Compensation Administration adjudication process are assigned to legal counsel. The Department focuses on providing exceptional customer service to member counties and injured workers.
