County Attorneys serve as legal council to the Board of County Commissioners of each county, the County Manager, other elected officials, and certain boards and commissions. They review and negotiate contracts, agreements, proposed ordinances, resolutions, polices and procedures, and various other documents. County Attorneys also assist county staff and officials with understanding and complying with state and federal laws which apply to a county; including the Open Meetings Act, Inspection of Public Records Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act.
