Serves as in-house counsel to the County. Represents the County in a variety of administrative, regulatory and civil actions. Participates in negotiations, mediation, litigation, arbitration and settlement conferences. Consults with and advises county departments, offices and agencies, elected officials and County appointed advisory boards and commissions on legal aspects of local government. Researches and interprets the law in multiple practice areas including, but not limited to, land use, natural resources, law enforcement, contracts and constitutional issues. Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities of the legal department. Reports directly to the Torrance County Manager and, as requested, to the Board of County Commissioners for Torrance County.
