Under the direction of the County Attorney, serves as legal representative and advisor to the Board of County Commissioners, and other elected officials, directors and individuals requiring legal advice; represents the County in all legal proceedings, including court and administrative proceedings in tax, garnishment, employment, and planning and zoning cases; drafts and reviews resolutions, contracts, ordinances, and other documents; researches legal issues and prepares memoranda for the County Attorney, assists with review of documents in Inspection of Public Records (IPRA) requests, reviews compliance with the Open Meetings Act, oversees outside counsel representation of the County. Acts as County Attorney when the County Attorney is unavailable and designates the Deputy as the Acting County Attorney. Performs other support functions as directed by the County Attorney.
