Description: This interactive (including live scenario situations) 40-hour instructor course focuses on preparing attendees to teach future biennium training blocks. Topics will include a basic foundation in law enforcement instruction as well as the specialized knowledge necessary for verbal de-escalation of people in crisis. Participants will gain knowledge regarding crisis and how people respond or behave in crisis. The concept of mental illness and its effect on the verbal interaction will be addressed as well. The course is NMDPS NMLEA accredited.
