Tele-communicator performs work involved with emergency service call taking and dispatching from a centralized safety communications center. Reporting to the Communications Director or other designated personnel, this employee is responsible for the prompt, accurate, and courteous dispatch of incoming and outgoing messages by radio and telephone for all emergency personnel in the city and county. Duties include, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, answering E911 calls, correctly maintaining departmental records management systems, utilizing RMS and NCIC terminals and use of all other related equipment. This position requires a willingness to work irregular hours, evening or night shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary to assure communication responses.
