Aelysea has more than 20 years of experience working in human resources, recruiting, education, office management, quality control and property management. She grew up in California where she worked during the dot-com craze as a high tech recruiter for companies such as Oracle, HP, Providian and PeopleSoft. She then moved to Tampa, FL, and worked in public relations until finding her home in Santa Fe, NM, where she transitioned into property management. She has also volunteered as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) working with foster children in the San Francisco Bay Area, and volunteered in various public schools working with children with special education needs.
| Role at NMAC
As the Government Affairs Specialist, Aelysea provides legislative and policy support to the NMAC legislative team, policy committees (staff are assigned as specific committee leads), NACo and WIR advocacy efforts, General Counsel, and other special initiatives. She is responsible for coordinating conference workshops and serves as the primary point-of-contact for federal grant programs and collaborative partnerships (NM EDGE).
